Changing the future - one child at a time.

The School

The School serves 150 children from K-4 through the eighth grade. In addition, to providing an excellent education, the curriculum is thoughtfully crafted around the Bible and models Christ-like values.

Our Biblical-based curriculum and small class sizes provide just the kind of environment our children need.  Plus motivated teachers and volunteers who love our children make The School is a wonderful place to be!

Here are a few of the reasons the parents of our children appreciate the difference The School makes in each child:

 Curriculum

The school uses A Beka curriculum which is an excellent Christian based, nationally recognized curriculum. It is a God-centered curriculum in all subject areas that prepares students for any educational setting.  Our teachers present exciting and challenging lessons on a daily basis.  The faculty and staff realize that God has a plan and purpose for each child's life and that we are only vessels trying to shape and mold these children into what God would have them to be.

Academic Enhancement Class

Our Academic Enhancement Class is designed to meet the needs of our children who need extra help in certain subjects.  Our Academic Enhancement Teacher provides individualized instruction for these students.  We have a large number of refugee students who benefit from this class as well as our English as a Second Language Class (ESL).

Christian Values

The staff begins each day in devotion and prayer.  The children and staff begin each day together with devotion and prayer.  Daily chapel is coordinated by local volunteer pastors and is specifically designed to disciple our children. And during the summer we encourage students to attend summer school and a variety of Christian summer camps throughout the region. Summer school not only provides Bible-based curriculum but also keeps our students focused on learning throughout the summer.

Great Opportunities for Our Graduates

French Camp Academy, an excellent boarding school in French Camp, Mississippi provides scholarships for our graduates.  Recent graduates have been valedictorian and salutatorian of their class.  We want all of our students to appreciate the fact that they too can be all God created them to be.

Many of our private Christian schools in the area offer scholarships to deserving graduates from The Neighborhood School.  Plus, our graduates are well prepared academically for East or Central High School just down the road from The School.

Volunteers Do Make a Difference!

We have hundreds of volunteers that support the school. Each child has at least two prayer partners who pray for specific needs voiced by each child. Additionally, volunteers also assist in reading to children, teaching technology, providing social and life skill development locally and globally, and teaching Art and Music Enhancement.
